New Beginnings for 2013
As the year winds down we have some major changes within the band. We would like to welcome Jeremy Englebert to the band on bass. He has been playing with us now for several months and doing an awesome job. Jeremy is from Indonesia and is quite a musician and a great guy, it's a pleasure working with him, he is a great addition to the band.
Debbie Kernan has been with Prima Donna off and on for quite a while. It's been a great journey together. However, Debbie has decided to leave the band at this time to focus on other things in her life. She has been a great asset to the band and a true pleasure to work with all these years. We are sad to see her go, but we understand and support her. We love Debbie and wish her all the best, we will always be friends. She is a class act.
So all things must evolve and with the closing of one door opens another:
Enter back into our lives Kelly Werkheiser. Kelly is the new lead singer for Prima Donna.
Tina and I have a history with Kelly that goes way back. Once upon a time when we were all very young and starting out in this crazy business, Kelly was actually the very first singer to perform with Prima Donna. Our first professional shows in public under the name Prima Donna, Kelly sang lead with us. It was short lived, we parted ways.. many years passed, we grew up and here we are again reuniting.
Kelly filled in for a couple of shows late this year and the chemistry was immediate and magical. We knew she was a great singer back then, and she sounds better then ever!
It was a very natural transition for us, it just simply feels right! We think the new line-up is very strong and we are all inspired to work together. We will be working on new material and possibly revamping some old tunes - heading into the studio in 2013. And lots of shows planned.
